HIV Treatment and Care

The Davis Memorial Hospital HIV Care and Treatment Clinic, familiarly known as PUSH (Positively United to Support Humanity joins with the Ministry of Health, Guyana and the Global community in the observance of World AIDS Day 2021, under the team, END Inequalities. END AIDS. END Pandemics.

While significant strides have been made to transform our approaches towards ending AIDS by 2030, there continues to be economic, social, cultural and legal inequalities. We continue to feel the effects of the AIDS epidemic and now as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to remember the loved ones, friends and (People Living with HIV) PLHIVs who have passed away. We want to celebrate those lives lost and commemorate their various contributions.

Davis Memorial Hospital is committed to providing a comfortable, confidential and safe environment that will tackle inequalities including    • Providing patient-centred care using our proven faith-based approach that focuses on quality of care and not judgement.
• Equitable access to services.
• Building trust and upholding human rights.

Our current clientele of 582 PLHIV who are all on treatment and 96% virally suppressed continue to access services that improve their quality of life. Our team of dedicated clinical and support staff acknowledge that a multidisciplinary approach to care is essential to reducing interruptions in treatment, reducing stigma and discrimination, and elevating the clients towards an undetectable and untransmittable status.
