Davis Memorial Hospital has an enviable track record when it comes to maternal and child Health service. The aim of this department is to help all mothers-to-be to have a safe pregnancy and eventful birthing experience: to prepare you and your body for childbirth, to support you from the moment you discover you’re pregnant, right through to the birth.
We care for you and your baby in an environment that is designed to feel as close to ‘home’ as possible. A comfortable and relaxed setting provided within a hospital environment which gives the added reassurance of safety. Our reputation is for high quality and parent-centred care.
What you need to know
- The patient is seen by the Gynecologist.
- Lab tests are then done.
- Monthly check-ups are required until 32 weeks into your pregnancy after which your doctor will see you every 2 weeks and then weekly until delivery.
- After delivery both baby and mother are observed for another 24 hours.
Child Health Clinic
Our clinic allows for admission of new-born babies until the child attains the age of 5 years. The child will be fully immunized until he/she is ready to be discharged from the clinic.
Monthly visits are required from Birth to 1 year old, after which, depending on the age of the child; the visits will be required every 2, 3 or 4 months until the child is discharged from the Child health clinic.
Hours of Work
Ante-natal: Monday and Wednesday (1:00PM – 4:30PM)
Child Health Clinic: Friday (8:00AM – 1:30PM)
